Where: Historic Range Riders Lodge, Silver Gate, Montana at the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park

When:    July 25, 2009, 1:00 – 5:00 PM

Co-sponsored by the Beartooth Alliance and Magic City Fly Fishers, MWF member participants encourage attendance by anyone interested in how Montana can sustain it’s native fish populations, in particular, the pure strain of Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout.

The open to the public, free workshop includes representatives of fishery management agencies, non-governmental organizations, anglers, and conservation leaders. Guest panelists will discuss current efforts and future strategies toward sustaining and enhancing populations and habitat in the Beartooth – Yellowstone National Park area.

Panelists include: agency fishery managers from the National Park Service (Yellowstone), Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, and the USFS,  Bruce Farling- Executive Director – Montana Council of Trout Unlimited, Craig Mathews - Fly shop owner, guide and fisheries conservationist from West Yellowstone, John Randolf – publisher of Fly Fisherman Magazine, and guest speaker Dr. Robert Behnke, trout expert and Professor Emeritus, Colorado University.

The workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about current, on the ground projects, and to participate in discussions about the future outlook for highly prized native trout species.
